Yin Yoga is a calmer form of yoga.
We work with the deeper connective tissue such as ligaments, bones and even the joints in the body that are not normally exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice or exercise.
Yin Yoga is suitable for everyone regardless of level, and is a perfect complement to the more dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga and exercise that emphasize internal heat and the lengthening and contraction of our muscles. In Yin Yoga, we hold the positions anywhere from 3-5 minutes. The class provides an opportunity to find peace in body and mind.
Beate Lid Skodje is a certified yoga instructor and has led yoga classes since 2014. At ADO she has been teaching since 2021 and does pregnant and yin yoga.
She has broad experience, and has a unique ability to adapt yoga for different levels and needs. She is a certified Mindfulness instructor and has taught a number of courses in this.
Beate focuses on breathing and that the yoga mat can be a sanctuary. Yoga is a work in and not a work out.
